Once the Hielo Continental 2009 over, I will have spent almost seven years working on Patagonia and the Great South. Seven years of research, four expeditions… Five if you include the end of the South American trip called Solitude in Extreme Territories. I will never regret these years so rich have they been. Rich in discovering the self and how to possibly adapt to new environments, rich in learning while helping thrilling scientific research. Yet I never wanted to become a specialist in a given environment. On the contrary it is the blending of the self in the different environments our planet has to offer that fascinates me. Acquiring the same knowledge of ice of sand, of forests as of rock. This is the real quest I started upon some ten years ago with trips in Asia or South America so as to discover their various environments..
To this quest I shall turn back. My next expeditions will target very diverse yet complementary environments. Complementary since they make our world, diverse as each requires a different approach that is in tune with their specifics. How these environments interact with each other and how we can adapt to survive in them is of paramount interest to me. Understanding this is one of many steps to understanding how Man has settled in the different parts of our globe, cold or hot, humid or dry, or why Man has populated areas which seem highly hostile to us now.
I am also fascinated by mythical places and legends that you can find all around the world. Different yet so similar they are witness to men of the past.
Diverse environments, mythical places and legends of the world will be the frame for my next expeditions and of course will be documented on this website
