Environnement
Hielo Patagonico Sur is an emblematic area for different problems linked to environment. It offers exceptional natural sites which are currently in danger.
> Primeval forest that is more than 6,000 years old and a large territory of peat populated by different species of fl ora and fauna..

> Unique marine and terrestrial fauna with hundreds of different bird species.

> Major glacial territory that is mutating and in serious danger of disappearing.

The thinning down of these glaciers is a crucial problem as they are the major provider of fresh water for Chile. A problem that will become paramount in the years to come. If nothing is done in that domain, the unfortunate and most probable disappearance of these glaciers - short term if we consider the age of the planet –, is a full size symbol of the global disappearance of natural sites and fresh water.

The interest provoked by an expedition such as ours can have strong educational impacts. Via our communication cam-

paigns we want to sensitize the general public to the preservation of fresh water and fragile natural environments..

● Conferences in schools to discuss environmental issues.

● Displays and awareness campaigns during shows and through media.
